WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL RESULT - Four Reform UK wins in Bromsgrove as Conservatives and Lib Dems hold on

OUR REPORTER, Neil Gordon, is live at the Bromsgrove District Council elections to bring you the results.

Reform UK came out of top in the district, taking four of the nine seats. The Conservatives and Liberal Democrats were joint second on two each and there was one independent.

Overall Worcestershire County Council result

Overall the Conservatives have lost control for the first time in decades.

Reform UK now has 27 seats on the new-look council, the Conservatives have 12, The Green Party has eight councillors, the Liberal Democrats six, Labour two and there are two independents.

RESULT – Alvechurch – Independent  GAIN

INDEPENDENT candidate Alan Bailes has won Alvechurch




The results for the seat are as follows: Alan Bailes (Independent) 1,026, John Robin Ball (The Green Party) 156, Gillian Ruth Bell (Liberal Democrats) 138, Douglas Anthony Bridger (Labour Party) 233, Danny Bromage (Local Conservatives) 751, and Lisa Cresswell (Reform UK) 674.

Alan Bailes is duly elected.


The total number of votes cast was 2,978 and turnout was 38.61 per cent. There was one spoiled ballot paper.

RESULT – Clent Hills – Conservative HOLD

Karen May has won Clent Hills for the Conservative Party.

The results for the seat are as follows: Steven Robert Colella (Independent) 1,129, Stuart John Davies (The Green Party) 69, Stan Francis (Independent) 36, Karen Jane May (The Conservative Party) 1,501, David Joseph Nicholl (Liberal Democrats) 135, Laura Maeve Rollins (Labour and Co-operative Party) 165, and Donna Westwood (Reform UK) 768.

Karen Jane May is duly elected.

RESULT – Bromsgrove East – Lib Dem GAIN

Samuel Marc Evans has won Bromsgrove East for the Liberal Democrats.

The results for the seat are as follows: John David Cochrane (Labour Party) 169, Samuel Marc Evans (Liberal Democrats) 1,141, Peter James Harvey (The Green Party) 91, Charlie Hotham (Independent) 103, Kit Taylor (The Conservative Party) 733, and Bob Waller (Reform UK) 722.

Samuel Marc Evans is duly elected.

Total number of votes cast was 2,959 and turnout was 38.34%. There were four spoiled ballot papers.

RESULT -Bromsgrove Central – Lib Dem HOLD

Joshua William Robinson has won Bromsgrove Central for the Liberal Democrats.

The results for the seat are as follows: David Hopkins (Labour Party) 197, Adrian David Kriss (The Conservative Party) 548, Peter John Measham (The Green Party) 114, Joshua William Robinson (Liberal Democrats) 1,715, and Chris Thomas (Reform UK) 1,030.

Total number of votes cast was 3,604 and turnout was 38.61%. There were four spoiled ballot papers.

RESULT – Bromsgrove South – Reform UK GAIN

Jean-Louis Gaynor has won Bromsgrove South for Reform UK, writes Neil Gordon.

The results for the seat are as follows: Sam Ammar (Liberal Democrats) 878, Norman Christopher Cook (The Green Party) 154, Kyle Daisley (Independent) 94, Jean-Louis Gaynor (Reform UK) 967, Helen Jayne Jones (The Conservative Party) 474, and Ian William James Woodall (Labour Party) 208.

Jean-Louis Gaynor is duly elected.

Total number of votes cast was 2,775 and turnout was 30.59%. There were five spoiled ballot papers.

RESULT – Woodvale – Reform UK GAIN

Mark Richard Dunkley has won Woodvale for Reform UK.

The results for the seat are as follows: Sheridan Ann Bellingham (Labour Party) 263, Mark Richard Dunkley (Reform UK) 1,319, Martin Philip German (Liberal Democrats) 245, Julian Malcolm Gray (The Green Party) 152 and Shirley Anne Webb (The Conservative Party) 1,047.

Mark Richard Dunkley is duly elected.

Total number of votes cast was 3,026 and turnout was 33.22%. There were 11 spoilt ballot papers.

RESULT – Wythall – Conservative HOLD

Adam Kent holds onto his seat for the Conservatives, polling more than double the Reform UK candidate Stephen Peters.

It is a glimmer of hope for the Tories after Reform UK took the first two seats of the day.

The results for the seat are as follows: Valerie Jane Clarke (Liberal Democrats) 92, Adam David Kent (Local Conservatives) 1,832, Adrian John Lee (Labour Party) 176, Stephen Richard Peters (Reform UK) 904, Amelia Louisa Quirk (The Green Party) 77, and Sean Anthony Taylor (Independent) 570.

Adam Kent is duly elected.

The total number of votes cast was 3,651 and turnout was 38.07%. There were six spoilt ballot papers.

 

RESULT – Beacon – Reform UK GAIN

Peter Turner took the seat from Labour.

The results for the seat are as follows: Anita Dale (The Conservative Party) 742, Jill Harvey (The Green Party) 251, Peter McDonald (Labour Party) 711, Peter Turner (Reform UK) 956 and Sarah Jane Woodhouse (Liberal Democrats) 183.

Peter Turner is duly elected.

Total number of votes cast was 2,843 and turnout was 34.42%. There were four spoilt ballot papers.

 

RESULT – Bromsgrove West – Reform UK GAIN

Nik Price has won the Bromsgrove West seat for Reform UK.

The results for the seat are as follows: James Andrew Clarke (Liberal Democrats) 502, Rita Lorraine Dent (The Conservative Party) 257, Esther Gray (Labour Party) 316, Nik Price (Reform UK) 754 and John Smout (The Green Party) 203.

Nik Price is duly elected.

Total votes cast was 2,032 and turnout was 32.1%. There were two spoilt ballot papers.
