A MOTORIST was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after police stopped a car in Bromsgrove.
The vehicle was pulled over by officers from Worcestershire Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) after it was ‘hanging around’ an area of the town that had seen a recent increase in burglaries.
It was established the five people inside the car were not burglars but they were in possession of a quantity of class A and B drugs.
Those with drugs have been placed on a drug intervention programme.
The driver failed a Drug Wipe roadside test which showed him to be positive for both cannabis and cocaine.
He was arrested at the scene and taken to the police station to provide a blood specimen.
That has now been sent off and officers are awaiting the results.
