A DRIVER was arrested in Longbridge on suspicion of drug-driving after trying to evade police.

Officers from Worcestershire Operational Policing Unit followed the car from Rubery and were joined by their colleagues from West Midlands Police Traffic Unit and Central Motorway Police Group.

They used a tactical TPAC manouevre to bring the vehicle to a stop on the main A38 (Bristol Road South).

A TPAC sees police pull their cars in front, to the side and behind a target vehicle to bring it to a standstill.

After smelling cannabis coming from the car they searched the vehicle and seized a quantity of the substance before arresting the motorist on suspicion of drug-driving.
