Drivers urged to be aware of road closures for Bromsgrove Carnival tomorrow

Bromsgrove Editorial 12th Jul, 2019   0

DRIVERS are being warned about road closures in and around the town centre tomorrow during this year’s Bromsgrove Carnival.

The procession starts from North Bromsgrove High School at midday so School Drive, the Stourbridge Road, the Birmingham Road from The Strand and the Kidderminster Road will all be shut from 12pm until the parade passes.

The Kidderminster Road will be closed from 12pm to 4pm.

The main carnival arena in Sanders Park will have more than 40 stalls, a funfair, a live music stage and live demonstrations and displays in and around the Jubilee Bandstand.

TV and radio star Alison Hammond will be presenting the awards to the best lorry float and the best walking float.

At 5pm from the park the Children’s Challenge run will get under way and at 6pm the annual Timberhonger 10K

Proceedings get under way tonight with the outdoor cinema screening of Bohemian Rhapsody in Sanders Park.

The event is free but the organisers are hoping people will offer donations to help cover the cost.

The showing starts around 9.30pm with singer Mitzy entertaining the crowds beforehand from 8pm.

Bromsgrove Carnival is non-profit making with all proceeds being donated to local charities such as Primrose Hospice, Libby Mae’s Little Angels, and the Midlands Air Ambulance.
