A DRIVER in Fairfield who was stopped for using their mobile phone whilst driving was found to have no valid licence or insurance after trying to give false details to police.
The driver was stopped by West Mercia Police’s Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) in Fairfield, Bromsgrove in the early hours of this morning (May 22) after they were seen holding their mobile phone and using it as a sat-nav whilst driving.
After attempting to give the police false details to avoid exposure, checks determined the vehicle was uninsured and the driver only held a provisional driving licence.
OPU Worcestershire seized the vehicle and reported the driver for offences.
The seizure of this vehicle follows another report of a driver being stopped by OPU Worcestershire in Bromsgrove.
Just before midnight on May 20, a Honda Civic was seized after the owner had no insurance or MOT for the vehicle.
