A DOUBLE celebration at Longbridge Methodist Church last Thursday saw Jellybabies Nursery children mark Halloween and a toast a loyal volunteer’s 84th birthday, writes Storm Cox.
Despite being unable to organise their usual ‘Halloween parent/carer fun day’ due to the Covid-19 pandemic, staff and youngsters came together and celebrated Brian Kite’s big day at the same time.
The children dressed in Halloween costumes, took part in a pumpkin trail and presented a cake to Brian, who has been a full-time volunteer at Jellybabies for 27 years.
Nursery manager Jacqueline Walker said: “This was a lovely fun event for the children where they worked together to use their observational and matching skills.
“Brian does a tremendous job at the nursery all on a voluntary basis and is very popular with the children and staff.”
