Dogs seized and two arrested in Hagley on suspicion of animal cruelty and cannabis cultivation

TWO PEOPLE were arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and animal cruelty after police were flagged down in Hagley and information was passed on about a property there.

Officers from Worcestershire Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) were joined by colleagues from North Worcestershire Police and an RSPCA officers.

Seven dogs were found at the address on Tuesday in what police called ‘awful conditions’ which is why the alerted the RSPCA.

Sadly one of the puppies died with the rest now in the care of the animal charity.




A cannabis grow and equipment was also seized by police.

An RSPCA spokesperson said: “Along with police we attended an address near Hagley and a number of dogs were removed and are now in our care.


“This is an ongoing investigation and enquiries are continuing, so we are unable to comment further at this time.”
