BROMSGROVE was truly put on the royal map following a trip to Buckingham Palace by the District Council’s Civic Head – Councillor Sam Ammar.

The event was one of the last appointments enjoyed by Coun Ammar as she attended the first garden party of the year hosted by King Charles yesterday.

Accompanied by her husband and consort Mohammad Labban, the couple even managed to snatch a quick word with the King.

Coun Ammar said: “The King asked my husband where we had travelled from and he said a lovely place called Bromsgrove. The King agreed that Bromsgrove is indeed lovely!

“The whole event was absolutely wonderful and I felt so privileged to be there and to represent Bromsgrove which I am proud to call home.”

Coun Ammar’s civic year comes to an end with a golf tournament this weekend, her final fundraising event for the local branch of Age UK.
