WORCESTERSHIRE County Council is in discussions with various parties and stakeholders in a bid to secure the future of Bromsgrove’s Ryland Centre.
The running looks set to change because of Sandwell Leisure Trust, which it is tendered to for day-to-day services, reaching a decision to withdraw contracts in favour of a wholly owned company that will take responsibility for delivering leisure services in the future.
Worcestershire County Council, which owns the freehold for The Ryland Centre, said the venue was not in the new company’s plans, and SLT would no longer be providing leisure services of any kind.
A spokesperson for Worcestershire County Council said: “As a result of Sandwell BCs decision, WCC are exploring a number of options, and have entered discussions with various parties and stakeholders on the future of the Ryland Centre.”
