'Destination Bromsgrove' - New mobile app launches to boost independent retailers

A NEW ‘Destination Bromsgrove’ campaign, complete with mobile phone app, is being launched today (Friday) to encourage more people to use the town’s much-valued and highly-rated independent businesses.

The app is available on both Android and Apple platforms and is aimed at enabling the town’s business owners, residents and visitors to build closer relationships.

The drive – which comes just days after Small Business Saturday – is aimed at revolutionising Bromsgrove’s shopping experience, boosting business and invigorating the heart of the town.

The application will include a directory of local shops, businesses, pubs and restaurants and an interactive map to help people locate them and view their opening hours.

Exclusive offers, including discounts and promotions, will help people save cash while they support the High Street and there will be news and details of events to help people stay up-to-date.

People can share reviews and read testimonies from fellow shoppers to help them make informed choices about where to shop, dine and drink.




Users will also be able to connect with other Destination Bromsgrove users to share their love for the High Street.

Matt Jinks, from Destination Bromsgrove, said everyone was incredibly excited to bring the campaign and app to the community.


“Our goal is to foster a sense of unity and support among our local businesses and residents, driving economic growth and ensuring Destination Bromsgrove continues to thrive.”

He added business owners were ‘facing challenges presented by a changing landscape in retail and hospitality’.

“We encourage the local community to focus on what is in out high street and not what is not – there are so many fantastic businesses ready to provide great service and products.”

Alan Nolan, the managing director of BDP – the company behind the app, said: “There is also a strong environmental message through the app as we encourage residents to shop local and reduce their carbon footprint.”

Plans are already in place for a second phase to help Destination Bromsgrove evolve, which will include a loyalty card scheme exclusively for app users.

“Together, we can keep our high street vibrant and thriving.”
