SINCE last writing, we have had the unfortunate news of increased coronavirus cases and subsequently an increase in hospitalisations.
This has led to the Prime Minister making the tough decision to delay step four of the roadmap.
I know this will be a huge blow to many people but it’s vital we follow the science and make sure this roadmap is irreversible and a cautious approach is required to make sure the end of step four truly is freedom day.
The vaccine programme is progressing well and a new target of all over-18s being offered the vaccine by Friday, June 18, has been set.
At the start of June, it was my turn to get my vaccine, which was administered by Dr Shah at West Heath Medical Centre. If you are eligible please do book and go get vaccinated.
During the Whitsun recess I was busy out and about in the constituency, visiting residents with my pop-up and road surgeries and meeting with businesses to discuss investment in our area that will create local jobs.
I also continued on my pub tour supporting local businesses such as the Lickey Banker and Cavalier Pub – it was great to meet many of the locals.
