THE DEATH of 42-year-old woman Kelly Godfrey in Bromsgrove is not currently being treated as suspicious as was likely to be linked to a ‘medical condition’, police say.

It follows a post mortem carried out over the weekend.

Kelly, who is from Bromsgrove and was well-known in the town, sadly died in hospital on Wednesday.

Tributes have been paid to Kelly on our Facebook page, since the initial story went live.

Dean Ottley described her as ‘a lovely young lady’, adding the situation was ‘so sad’.

Berni Mac said: “Rest in Peace Kelly. Remembering our five-a-side days. God bless you.”

And Victoria Cole wrote: “You did my wedding flowers for me Kel, you were a kind soul. Fly high.”

Det Insp Gerry Smith said: “We would like to thank everyone who shared the initial appeal which was issued last week.

“Our thoughts are with Kelly’s family and friends at this sad time.”

A 28-year-old woman from Bromsgrove who was arrested on suspicion of assault has been released under investigation.
