A DAY OF EVENTS and fundraising is being held in memory of a teenage footballer who tragically died in July, writes Neil Gordon.
Daniel Drewitt (pictured) was just 16 years old when he lost his life in an incident at Sutton Park Pool, Sutton Coldfield, two months ago, leaving his family and the community devastated.
Now Daniel’s former team mates at Bromsgrove Rovers AFC are set to play a friendly memorial match against Colmers School and Sixth form College, where Daniel had studied.
The match will take place this Sunday, September 14 at Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club, Weston Hall Road, with proceeds going to a memorial and Daniel’s family.
Other events on the day include live music, street food, special guests and entertainment.
The event opens at 11am and the football match kicks-off at midday, with organisers inviting people to go along and join in with celebrations of Daniel’s life.
