THE CURTAIN comes down on this year’s Bromsgrove Festival this weekend after more than 40 events in the past four weeks.
This Sunday, July 23, there are three more events in the district.
Blackwell Concert Band will be performing at the Sanders Park Jubilee Bandstand between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
It is the latest ‘Bands in the Park’ event organised by Bromsgrove District Council – people are urged to take along blankets or chairs and a picnic and enjoy the free entertainment.
Then at 6.30pm, the renowned Oddsocks Theatre Group perform Shakespeare’s classic Much Ado About Nothing at Bromsgrove’s Avoncroft Museum.
The group bring this romantic romp to life in their own hilarious way in a performance packed full of sun, songs and silliness.
The outdoor production is suitable for everyone ages seven and over.
Visit oddsocks.co.uk for more information and search for ‘Avocroft Museum’ at ticketsource.co.uk for tickets which are £20 (£15 concessions) and £12 for under 18s.
A Summer Gala Concert – The Scandanavian Connection is being held at St John’s Church, Bromsgrove – also on Sunday.
The conductor for the evening will be Richard Jenkinson and the music will be performed by the Orchestra of St John.
The programme includes Tchaikovsky’s Hamlet Fantasy Overture, Opus 67, Sibelius’ Karelia Suite and Symphony No. 5 in E flat major, Opus 87 and Alfen’s Swedish Rhapsody No. 1 (Midsummer Vigil).
Tickets, at £20 for adults and free entry for under 16s, are available at priorbooking.com or from Decanter Spirit on Bromsgrove High Street.
Some will be available on the door.
