A CROWDFUNDING appeal has been launched to raise £36,000 to bring digital equipment to Bromsgrove’s Fairfield Flicks community cinema which would enable it to screen the latest releases.
A Digital Cinema Upgrade, which will cost £35,643, will enable Fairfield Flicks to reach out to more people by screening a wider selection of films and event cinema, including recent releases.
A pledge of £10,000 has already been made by Worcestershire County Council and the total is currently up to £12,000.
Fairfield Flicks spokesperson Conrad Palmer said he was delighted and grateful for the council’s contribution.
“If we can achieve our target, we will be able to screen a wider selection of cinematic arts that can bring more people together, helping to reduce loneliness and social isolation and supporting the local economy.”
Fairfield Flicks initiative is delivered by a partnership between Fairfield Village Community Association and Fairfield Village Hall and is staffed wholly by volunteers.
The audience reach spans Bromsgrove and the surrounding area.
