YEAR four pupils at Hanbury First School attended a special awards ceremony after being announced as winners of the 2021 Pershore Plum Festival Art Competition.

The event was held at Pershore Town Hall after Evie and Isabel M won the eight to 11-year-old category and Freddie, Alistair, Marcus and Rory were highly commended.

The winners picked up prizes of art bundles for themselves and the school, whilst all those selected received certificates.

The judges said they were ‘blown away’ by the amount of time, creativity and attention to detail which had been put into producing the artwork created with a Market Garden theme.

Year four teacher and art co-ordinator Mrs Hope said: “I know how hard it must have been for the judges as all the pieces were fantastic and all deserved to win.

“We are extremely proud of our winners and all the children in year four. What a way to end the year.”

All the entries were exhibited at Pershore Town Hall and are now on display at Number 8 in the town until September 22.
