Countdown begins to Rubery Christmas lights switch-on

THE ANNUAL Rubery Christmas lights switch-on will be held in the village on Saturday, writes Ryan Smith.

The event on New Road will get under way from 3.30pm when those in attendance can enjoy live music from local singers Becky Neale and Chloe Berry as well as choir performances from Holywell School, St James School and the Rubery choir.

Local residents will also be able to find out thew winner of the best dressed window competition.

Children will get the chance to meet Father Christmas and the Snow Queen throughout the day.




The Primrose Hospice will be switching on its lights of love tree at 5pm, with the main lights switch on happening at 5.30pm.

The event has been organised by Bromsgrove District Council and the authority’s chairman Coun Caroline Spencer will be pushing the plunger to illuminate the village.
