THE CHAIR of Bromsgrove District Council, Councillor Sam Ammar, visited the town’s Repair Cafe on Saturday to mark the first anniversary of its official launch.
She helped organiser Ros Cooke welcomed 60 visitors and repairers. Of 42 items taken along, 75 per cent were fixed that day or will be completed by the next session on the first Saturday of November.
Even those whose items were not repairable were very appreciative of the feedback received.
Ros said: “We have been pleased to be able to reduce Bromsgrove district’s carbon footprint by keeping 114kg of household items out of landfill over the past three months.”
