Council announces more drop-in sessions on future planning strategy

VENUES in a swathe of Bromsgrove villages have been added to the list of locations set to host public drop-in events as the district council seeks feedback on its future planning strategy.

Rubery, Wythall Catshill, Clent and Cofton have been added to the list.

Residents have a 12-week window to comment on the Draft Development Strategy Consultation for Bromsgrove District Local Plan.

This follows a Council vote in June giving residents 12 weeks to commend on the Draft Development Strategy Consultation for Bromsgrove District Local Plan.

It sets out where housing, employment and infrastructure could be developed in the District up to 2043.

Sessions are being held across the District including Hagley, Stoke Prior, Catshill and Alvechurch with events in Lickey End, Burcot, Barnt Green and Frankley also scheduled.

Councillor Kit Taylor whose portfolio covers Planning said: “The drop-in sessions have proved really popular so I am delighted that five more dates have been added to an already packed schedule.

“Local Plans are prepared in accordance with national legislation and policy and, unfortunately, no development is not an option.

“Our residents have a wealth of knowledge of their local area and we want to tap into this to help us to interpret the Government’s requirements in the best way possible to meet our District’s needs.”

A full list of the drop in events are here and they will all feature the same content with residents encouraged to attend, speak with planning officers and share their views.

The consultation runs until September 22.
