Could you create a cake for charity Bromsgrove bake-off?

BUDDING bakers are being urged to put themselves forward for a charity baking event being held in Bromsgrove.

Broad Street DIY’s Bake Off will take place at the Worcester Road store on Wednesday, April 18, to raise cash for Dodford Children’s Farm and bosses want residents to bake and donate cakes for the cause.

A panel of judges will look at the overall appearance and taste of each cake and one lucky chef will be crowned Broad Street DIY’s star baker – winning a special Star Baker apron.

Bakers are asked to supply a list of ingredients used and to ensure their cake is wrapped or boxed appropriately with their name and contact details supplied.

Following judging the cakes will be sliced up and sold with all profits donated to the cause.

Director Lisa Childs said: “Dodford Children’s Farm is our nominated charity for 2018 and we plan to run regular fund-raising events during the year.

“With the growing trend for home baking we thought a bake off would be well supported and help us raise a decent amount of money for the charity.”
