THE PUBLIC can go to one of a series of free cost-of-living fairs being held throughout January and February at Worcestershire’s libraries, writes Zara Parkes.
Information and advice on the managing money, housing, benefits and energy bills will be available at the events.
Bromsgrove’s will be next Friday, January 27, and Redditch’s on February 8 – both will run from 10am to 1pm.
No appointment is needed to attend and free refreshments will be provided.
Partner organisations will provide support in finding work, setting up a business, improving digital skills and other learning opportunities.
And attendees will also have access to the libraries’ free books and resources.
Many organisations, including Here to Help Worcestershire, Trussell Trust, Living Well for Longer and Department for Work and Pensions will also be in attendance.
Marcus Hart, cabinet member for communities, said: “We understand residents are highly concerned about the rise in cost-of-living.
“Our goal is to provide as much support as we can to anyone needing assistance.”
He added he hoped the fairs would offer reassurance to residents and provide services and assistance to help them.
