Copa Del Bradley charity memorial football match to take place next month

Bromsgrove Editorial 14th May, 2023   0

THE COPA Del Bradley memorial cup charity football match will be returning on Friday, June 2.

The match, which will see a team from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service take on a side from West Mercia Police, is held every year to commemorate former fireman Del Bradley, who died shortly before he was due to retire.

This year’s event will be held at Redditch Borough football club on Cherry Tree Walk, with kick-off at 6.30pm.

Cash raised from the game will go to the British Heart Foundation, the Firefighters Charity and Flint House, a police rehabilitation centre.

The police will be hoping for revenge after the fire and rescue service retained the Copa Del Bradley Cup with a 5-0 victory in last year’s hugely entertaining game.

That match, the first to be held since the pandemic, saw over 300 people attend and raised £1700 for charities and good causes.

The match will be free to enter with a raffle taking place after the game.

There will also be a bar for fans to buy refreshments.
