Construction starts in January on Bromsgrove's Whitford Heights estate

THE first image of Bromsgrove’s new Whitford Heights development has been released, with construction due to begin in January 2024.

Bellway West Midlands will build 183 homes and Ashberry Homes, which is part of the Bellway Group, will build 187 properties at the site off Whitford Road.

The development will include both houses and bungalows for private sale.

Forty per cent of the homes – 148 in total – will be designated as affordable. This means apartments, houses and bungalows will be made available for local people through low-cost rent or shared ownership.

More than £4 million will be invested in supporting local services and infrastructure.

Marie Richards, sales director for Bellway West Midlands, said: “We are making the final preparations to launch Whitford Heights and to release the first selection of homes onto the market.

“Both Bellway at Whitford Heights and Ashberry Homes at Whitford Heights will be providing a mix of two, three and four-bedroom new homes for sale.

“Once we open on site, our sales team will be able to engage face-to-face with potential purchasers, who will be able to come along to see for themselves exactly where the site is located and find out more about how the development will look.”

Bromsgrove District Council granted approval to Bellway’s plans for the dual development on the 42-acre site in July last year.

The development will feature a large area of public open space with seating areas, mown paths and a children’s play area.

Marie added: “We have worked closely with the council over our plans to provide hundreds of new homes at Whitford Heights to ensure they meet the specific needs of the local market.”

The Bellway representative said over £700,000 would be spent on high school education, over £600,000 on primary education, and over half a million pounds on sustainable infrastructure projects.
