Community groups urged to apply for Bromsgrove District Council grants

Harry Leach 9th Mar, 2020

VOLUNTARY, charitable and community groups in Bromsgrove can now bid for up to £1,000 in this year’s Equality Small Grants Scheme.

Bromsgrove District Council is making grants available for projects which address community issues such as equality and support wider community involvement.

To be eligible, projects must be delivered between May 1 and April 30, 2021.

Bidding opened on February 28 and the deadline for final applications is Friday, March 27.

The scheme, which has £10,000 available, looks to help smaller groups which find it hard to meet the criteria of bigger grant pots.

Coun Geoff Denaro, whose portfolio covers finance and enabling services, said: “We are pleased to support these local projects which can make all the difference to our communities and provide valuable services to our residents and the district.”

A total of £46,449 has been distributed to 99 different groups since the scheme was first introduced in 2015.

These projects have helped support older people, young people, men, women, people with disabilities, members of the LGBT community and race and religious groups.

To apply visit or call the District Council on 01527 881288.
