MORE than 600 people gathered for a day of fun in the sun when a Bromsgrove care home hosted its very own summer festival.
Crowds flocked to Cofton Park Manor Care Home, which provided entertainment for the whole family, including Morris dancing and a fantastic display of classic cars, courtesy of Bromsgrove District MG Club.
There were big smiles all around at the Lickey Road home as the sun shone and cool refreshments were in abundance.
Cofton Park Manor community relations manager Wendy Sibley said: “We were amazed by the wonderful crowd and would like to thank everyone for coming along. It was a fantastic turnout, and we could not have asked for better company.”
As well as the classic cars pulling in the crowd, local singer Debbie Miles performed a range of pop classics including Abba’s ‘Mamma Mia’ and Brian Adam’s ‘Summer of 69’.
The Alvechurch Morris dancers thrilled the crowds with their traditional dance as they encouraged everyone to join the fun.
Resident Graham Phillips, aged 86, said: “It was lovely to have so many people here on the day enjoying the wonderful weather and all the amazing food and entertainment.
“Singer Debbie Miles was wonderful and had everyone humming along – she brought a terrific vibe to the day.”
There were also a variety of stalls at the event, including books, crafts, men in sheds selling handmade garden items, and a tombola, as well as a raffle.
