'Cody's Law' - Petition calling for metal detectors and bleed kits to be mandatory in clubs and at events reaches £15,000

Bromsgrove Editorial 4th Jan, 2023   0

A PETITION started in a bid to make metal detectors and bleed kits compulsory in clubs and at events following the death of Bromsgrove Sporting footballer Cody Fisher already has almost 15,000 signatures.

The call for ‘Cody’s Law’ to prevent knives, guns and other weapons from being taken into public places was started by Kim Morris.

As well as the signatures, there were many messages of support for the idea, adding, had there been metal detectors at the nightclub, this would not have happened.

People can click here to visit the page and sign the petition on change.org.

Yeaterday, two men charged with Cody’s murder appeared at Birmingham Crown Court and were remanded in custody.

Kami Carpenter, aged 21, of no fixed address, and Remy Gordon, aged 22, of Cofton Park Drive, Rednal, were charged with murder and affray following the 23-year-old’s death at the Crane nightclub in Digbeth on Boxing Day.
