RESIDENTS are being reminded to ensure they choose the right NHS service if they become injured or unwell over Christmas and new year.

Some GP practices will have limited opening times throughout the festive season but there are other options, such as local pharmacies with fully-trained medical staff.

Minor ailments, such as coughs and colds, tummy troubles and more can be dealt with at the pharmacy.

On Christmas Eve most of the pharmacies are open as normal, apart from Morrisons in Bromsgrove and Rubery which open from 9am to 1pm and then 2pm until 5pm and Corbett Pharmacy in Droitwich which is open from 8.30am to 5pm.

On Christmas Day Boots in Bromsgrove High Street is open from 3pm to 6pm, Lloyds in Bromsgrove from 10am to 1pm, Lloyds in Rubery is open from 1pm to 6pm and Pitman Pharmacy in Northfield is open from midday to 3pm.

On Boxing Day Boots in Bromsgrove and Droitwich are open from 10am to 4pm and Morrisons in Bromsgrove and Rubery are both open from 10am to 4pm.

The Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) at Bromsgrove’s Princess of Wales Hospital is also open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and from midday to 8pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
