Christmas afternoon tea party to be held for Rubery's older people

A CHRISTMAS afternoon tea party will be held for older people in Rubery from 2.30pm to 4pm on Saturday afternoon at Beacon Church Centre.

There is no need for people to book, they just need to turn up and pay £1 and they will be shown to their seats.

During the afternoon party-goers will enjoy a range of savoury bites and delicious cakes.

There will be a table service so the older people will not have to move a muscle to get their hot drinks or cheeky festive tipple.

Party-goers will be entertained by music and a free raffle and no-one will go home empty handed.

The event has been organised by St Chad’s Church and the Beacon Church Centre.

Speaking about the event Rev Ian Ring from Beacon Church said both churches were delighted to be holding the event.

“We know many older folk enjoy getting together at this time of year and are looking forward to sharing a festive afternoon with them all.”

Anyone wanting more information should call Rev Ian Ring on 01562 710231 or Rev Claire Turner on 0121 238 3168.
