FAMILIES in need across Rubery and the surrounding areas will receive a chocolate treat this Easter thanks to the village’s Jack’s supermarket.

The store on New Road has kindly donated a hamper of Easter eggs to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church and they will now be placed in Easter foodbank parcels which will be distributed throughout the community.

Ryan Bird, store manager of Jack’s Rubery, said: “Every child deserves to celebrate Easter and here at Jack’s we love putting a smile on the faces of the youngest members of our community.

“We hope everyone who receives a food parcel has a brilliant Easter, and enjoy their chocolate goodies.”

Jack’s has also revealed its opening hours for the Easter weekend –

Good Friday (April 2) – 8am to 10pm.

Saturday (April 3) – 8am to 10pm.

Easter Sunday (April 4) – Closed.

Easter Monday (April 5) – 9am to 6pm.
