ALTHOUGH a lot of people will be off work over Christmas, some will still be working and many will still be relying on public transport to visit friends and family, go on nights out or for other essential travel.
Here is a round up of the changes to bus services over the festive period in Bromsgrove and Droitwich:
Christmas Day
There will be no Diamond, First Bus or National Express West Midlands services on Christmas Day (December 25).
In the lead up to Christmas and Christmas Eve
Services will be running normally until December 23, however Christmas Eve will see a service level more akin to a typical Sunday for all service operators.
National Express West Midlands (NXWM) and Diamond Buses say their evening services on Christmas Eve will be finishing earlier than usual.
NXWM final 20 service from Bromsgrove Bus Station to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QE) usually leaves at 7.48pm. On Christmas Eve the last service will leave at 6.42pm.
Those travelling from Cofton Hackett to the QE will have to catch the last service at 9.40pm instead of the usual 11.40pm service.
Boxing Day
First Bus will not be running any services.
Diamond Buses’ 202 and 202S services from Bomsgrove to Halesowen will not operate.
Diamond Buses’ 145 from Droitwich to Rubery, Great Park and 145A from Wychbold, Webbs to Rubery, Great Park will not run.
The 20 service from Bromsgrove Bus Station to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QE) will not run on Boxing Day.
December 27 to December 30
NXWM 20 route will operate its usual Saturday services on these dates.
Diamond Buses will operate Saturday services on these dates, except for 182 and 183 services from Redditch to Bromsgrove which will operate on Monday to Friday timetables.
First Bus will operate Saturday service on routes 30, 31, 32, 34, 35, 36, 38, 44, 45, 144, X50.
And Monday to Friday service on routes 153, 405, 417, 420, 482, 600, 672, 673, 675, 676 & 363.
December 31
Normal Sunday Services will operate on this date for all operators.
New Year’s Day (January 1)
Diamond Buses will operate a Sunday service.
First Bus services will not be running on New Year’s Day.
NXWM 20 service from Bromsgrove to QE will not run.
January 2 to January 6
Normal services will resume for First Bus and Diamond Buses from January 2.
NXWM will be operating school holiday timetables from January 2 to 5, with normal services resuming on January 6.
