A BROMSGROVE care home is inviting the local community to join its annual ‘Care Home Open Day’ tomorrow, June 30.
Chandler Court, based on Recreation Road, will be celebrating the role of arts within care.
Staff at the care home say it’s important to encourage residents’ self-expression through art.
Jo Gill, home manager at Chandler Court, said: “The residents are really looking forward to showcasing their artwork and welcoming the wider-community to Chandler Court.
“Everyone is excited because it’s always great to see new faces visiting our home and also see old friends.”
Those wanting to visit are asked to arrive between 2pm and 4pm where the residents’ arts and crafts gallery will be on display as well as photography and paintings from local artists.
Guests will be treated to afternoon tea and a street artist will be offering drawings and caricatures througout.
There will also be live music and entertainment to get everyone in the party mood.
The nationwide schemeaims to create lasting relationships between care homes and their communities.
