Chance to have a go at flying model aeroplanes and other craft at the next Fun Fly In

THERE will be a chance to have a go at flying model aeroplanes and other craft at the next Fun Fly In.

The event, between 10.30am and 3.30pm on Sunday, April 8, at Cofton Park, Lowhill Lane, Rednal (opposite the MG Factory’s main gates), is being held by the South Birmingham Model Flying Club.

The annual spring flying event is open to all members of the British Model Flying Association and members of clubs across the country will be attending.

Club secretary Tony Field from the club said: “From our club members we will see new models, products of winter building activity as well as the usual trainer models for novices.”

The event is now in its sixth year and Tony thanked the Birmingham City Council Parks Department for its continued support.

Eric Hawthorne will be flying his new ‘Magician’, Trevor Tennant will demonstrate the BMFA Vintage Stunt Schedule with his new ‘Ringmaster’ and there will be a special static display area featuring other models built by South Birmingham club members.

Visitors will be able to try ‘line-flying’ on a wire with one of the novice trainer models and there will also be the chance for members to met up with old friends and indulge in aeromodelling nostalgia.

For more information email Tony Field at [email protected] or call him on 0121 476 65834 or Eric Hawthorne at [email protected] or by calling 01384 423647.
