A YOUNGSTER had her wish come true when she got to meet CBeebies’ favourite Mr Tumble yesterday.
Lily-Mai, who has been given a terminal diagnosis, journeyed down to Reading where she met the TV children’s personality for a group sing-along and silliness.
There was then a meet and greet session and Mr Tumble, aka Justin Fletcher, gave Lily-Mai, who attends Bromsgrove’s Chadsgrove School, a signed postcard, signed DVD and a CD.
He also signed her Mr Tumble Trainers and sang her the famous ‘goodbye’ song when it was time to leave.
The trip was organised by Make A Wish.
Earlier this month we reported how Wayne Smith, the boyfriend of Lily-Mai’s mum ran the London Marathon for the charity.
He, after the story appeared in The Standard, received an anonymous £1,000 donation for his cause, enabling him to smash the £2,000 target he had set.
He said: “After months of training, the London Marathon is complete, legs are back to normal and Lily-Mai has been for her special treat thanks to Make A Wish.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to both raise money so these fantastic wishes can be granted for children like Lily-Mai and to also share this special moment as a family.
“It was quite an emotional day but was worth every second to see just how happy Lily-Mai and all of the other children were.
“I am proud to have been part of it all.”
He thanked Make A Wish on behalf of Lily-Mai and the whole family. He also praised everyone who donated and supported them along the way.
