THE ENVIRONMENTALLY-friendly manager of Chaddesley Garage has decided to brighten the forecourt with wildflowers which will attract bees and make it easier for them to gather pollen.

And Danni Tooth has also approached a local beekeeper who is keen to put some hives on the grounds behind the garage.

As well as providing an array of colour, the blooms also offer a fantastic natural food source for insects.

The popular independent garage, on the A449 between Bromsgrove and Kidderminster opposite the Fox Pub in Chaddesley Corbett, wanted to give nature a helping hand with the wildflower patch which has also received plenty of positive comments from customers and local residents.

It comes amidst a controversial cutting of wildflowers on nearby Briar Hill.

Danni said: “We already stock a local honey which has proven very popular among our customers and it would be amazing if we could actually produce our own in the future

”It has been great seeing the enthusiasm the team have shown towards helping our little native winged friends.

“Many staff live in the village and its nice to have an added attraction for them.”

Chaddesley Garage has always supported local businesses and supplier and its shop stocks a huge range of produce such as pies, cheeses, beers and gin.

Danni added: “I, and my friendly team of staff, are very passionate about giving our customers a store where they can get all their essentials and more.

“Apart from Christmas when I get very excited at the unusual and unique gifts that we source, I have thoroughly enjoyed our bee project.

“I really hope it brings a smile to all the passers-by.

“Our customers certainly don’t get stung on fuel prices and I hope they won’t get stung by our bees either.”
