Celebration time as Fairfield Village Community Association wins Neighbourhood Watch award

Bromsgrove Editorial 14th Sep, 2023   0

FAIRFIELD Village Community Association (FVCA) has won an accolade in the 2023 Neighbourhood Watch Network National Volunteer Recognition Awards.

The FVCA was shortlisted after receiving more than 270 nominations in the Community Health and Wellbeing category and judges chose the group over the others.

The category celebrates Neighbourhood Watch groups and coordinators who have gone the extra mile to look out for local residents’ and areas’ needs.

The FVCA described it as a ‘huge achievement’ for the community and congratulated and thanked ‘all the amazing volunteers and supporters’.

It said, without them, none of the schemes – to enhance community cohesion, reduce loneliness and social isolation and improve the environment – could have been delivered.

The group also thanked the Fairfield Village Hall trustees and partners.

The accolade win has also received plaudits from West Mercia Police.

Insp Richard Field, from Redditch and Bromsgrove Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), said: “The FVCA should be very proud of this award and very much deserved. Well done.”

Chief Constable Pippa Mills added: “This is brilliant recognition for the FVCA who do so much to bring people together.

“Thank you for being such a huge enabler for Bromsgrove Police to to provide information and assurance about what West Mercia is  doing with partners to address community concerns.”

Alan and Sarah Gormley will collect the award on behalf of the community at The Wellcome Collection in London on Wednesday, September 20.
