PUPILS and staff at Meadows First School are celebrating after achieving the prestigious Artsmark Gold award.
The accolade is the only creative quality standard for schools and education settings which is acredited by Arts Council England.
It supports schools to develop and celebrate their commitment to arts and cultural education.
The Gold award shows Meadows has established a quality arts provision and developed best practice, having a measurable impact on the children’s work in the subject.
Headteacher Sue Hewitt said: “I am proud of achieving this after what has been a challenging year for everyone in our community.
“It celebrates the hard work the teachers at Meadows have put into providing such a broad and creative curriculum for the children.
“A special thank you goes to Mrs Webb and Mrs Dwyer for their hard work in gaining this award.”
