Head to Catshill Methodist Church Centre's coffee shop for delicious treats and to raise funds for Pudsey

THIS YEAR will be the fourth in a row that Catshill Methodist Church Centre’s coffee shop will be supporting the BBC’s Children in Need appeal.

The venue will be holding a special coffee morning for the cause from 10am to midday tomorrow (Saturday).

The shop makes no specific charge for anything but suggests a £1 donation, which has helped raise more than £4,200 for good causes in the past.

In an effort to better last year’s £143 raised for Children in Need there will be toasted tea cakes as well as hot drinks and biscuits and another ‘bring and buy’ sale.

Hilary Ryder, one of the organisers said: “We don’t run the coffee shop to make money but as a facility for residents of Catshill and surrounding areas to have access to somewhere they can go and be assured of a warm welcome and a drink without necessarily digging deep into their purses.

”The coffee morning is a great opportunity to raise money for charity and Children in Need does such an amazing job that as well as being one of the first charities we raised money for, they are one’s we continue to support.”

The coffee shop in Golden Cross Lane opened in 2014 and over the years has supported a number of charitable ventures through special events including MacMillan Nurses, Bromsgrove’s Basement Project and other national and international appeals.

In total, the venue has raised £4,200 for good causes through similar events and bring and buy sales.

The coffee shop continues to open every Friday and Saturday morning and other activities taking place there can be found at www.catshillmethodists.org.uk
