CATSHILL will be getting in the festive spirit on Saturday, December 1, when the village host its annual Christmas lights switch-on, writes Ryan Smith.

The festivities get under way outside Catshill Village Hall at 3pm with music including Carol-Ann Hartells playing the saxophone, as well as singing from the Chadsgrove School Choir and the Fairfield School Choir.

Santa Claus will be arriving to the event by Sleigh at 4pm, followed by a performance from the Stars Dance Academy.

The main event will take place at 5pm, with this year’s lights being switched on by Bromsgrove District Council chairman Coun Caroline Spencer and Catshill Parish Council Chairman Owen Sweeting.

Catshill Baptist Church will be open selling cakes and mulled wine and the organisers want to thank local businesses for their co-operation and support and Singletons Nursery for providing the village’s Christmas tree.
