PUPILS from Catshill First School have grown as writers after teaming up with author Andy Seed, writes Roman Filkin.

He worked with the children and, during 12 sessions, helped them create their own anthology ‘Seeds of Inspiration’.

Each child chose their favourite piece of writing or a drawing to be included in the collection.

Assistant headteacher Adam Rivett said: “He has brought a significant buzz every time he has visited and the children have welcomed him each time.

At the end of the project, Andy told the children they were all now published authors and they were presented with a copy of the book during a special assembly.

“We are really proud of this project and know the power of having real authors in school.

“Our children have been truly inspired to read, write and edit and we are lucky to have been awarded a grant to make this happen,” added Mr Rivett.
