THIS CAR was seized in Romsley last night after a driver who had no insurance was caught on a ‘non-essential journey’ by the police.
Worcestershire’s Operational Policing Unit pulled over the motorist to chcck where they were going.
Officers said: “Going out for a drive to cure COVID-19 boredom is not an essential journey – especially if you don’t have any insurance!”
Earlier in the week officers from Bromsgrove Police were stopping cars in Barnt Green to check motorists were complying with the rules for being out of their homes.
People can only go out for their daily form of exercise – and that should be done in the local area, for a medical reason or to care for a vulnerable person, to shop for essential items or to go to work – and that is only if they are absolutely unable to work from home.
