MORE than 60 cannabis plants have been seized by police in Northfield earlier today.

The grow was spotted by Birmingham City Council workers who contacted West Midlands Police.

The electrics had also been tampered with – commonly done by growers to get a supply for heat lamps and hydroponic equipment.

Workers from Western Power Distribution made the scene safe prior to the plants being cleared.

Police have urged anyone aware of cannabis cultivation or other drug activity in their local area to call them on 101.

Officers posted this picture on social media and added: “Cannabis grows can be a huge danger to surrounding properties due to unsafe electrical setups.”
