WITH Bromsgrove Beer and Cider Festival cancelled for the second year in a row, the area’s CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) branch has organised three weekends to showcase pubs in the areas it covers.

The Beer and Cider Weekends, aimed at giving pubs and clubs a boost, will be held in Droitwich on August 7 and 8, Redditch 14 and 15 and Bromsgrove on August 21 and 22.

Event Organiser Dave Wheeler said: “There was no way we could run the Bromsgrove Beer and Cider Festival under the current restrictions and felt it was only right that we should leave the task of providing Covid-safe places to enjoy a beer or cider to the professionals.

“Our local publicans have the knowledge and experience for operating under the current restrictions.

“We want to encourage pub goers and their families to get back out to their local pubs, enjoy some great local beers and ciders and provide some much needed support to an industry that has suffered more than most over the last 15 months.”

CAMRA will be provide a pub trail for each of the towns which will be available via the event website.

A prize of a day trip for a family of six on the narrowboat Cecilia, donated by the Worcester Birmingham and Droitwich Canals Society, is also up for grabs.

Further details of the weekends will be published at rb.camra.org.uk/weekend closer to the dates.
