THE CAFE in Bromsgrove’s Sanders Park has closed temporarily for a refurbishment.
The eatery shut today (Monday, February 2) after the previous tenant operator’s lease ended.
An interim mobile catering provider will now be sought to offer refreshments to park visitors while a long-term solution is finalised.
The closure does not affect the recently-upgraded public toilets by the cafe, which remain open and fully accessible.
Bromsgrove District Council’s portfolio holder for Leisure and Culture, Coun Shirley Webb, said: “With the cafe’s change of tenancy, it’s time to assess the options for improvements that could make an even better experience for park users.
“That will take a bit of time, so thank you for your patience.”
An estimated 350,000 people visit Sanders Park every year.
As well as a cafe building and public toilets, across its 16 hectares, it boasts a variety of facilities including a bandstand, bowling green, tennis courts, skate park, and multiple play areas.
