A HUGELY popular butchers in Bromsgrove has been crowned the town’s best independent business for the second year running.

Butchers Block retained its crown as Bromsgrove’s best independent retailer at the ninth annual Birmingham Awards last Saturday (November 9).

Going up against some other amazing independent businesses across the city, owners of the butchers – wives Michelle and Lilith – brought their award back to Bromsgrove.

“We were very nervous this year, being up against the best independents in the UKs second city, we never thought we’d get the award again, but we did and couldn’t be prouder,” said Lilith.

Between being first recognised nationally at the 2022 Women In Meat awards, for the same prize, they are now firmly established as the region’s top independent business.

“We couldn’t do what we do without the amazing and growing support we have each week. We pride ourselves on our customer service and produce and seems the locals agree after voting for us agaon,” added Michelle.

The couple are in the running for more award success after receiving multiple nominations for different ceremonies taking place this month.

The pair are nominated for the independent retailer and catering butcher categories at the Women In Meat Awards in London and are shortlisted for Bromsgrove MP, Bradley Thomas’ inaugural Small Business Awards.

Women In Meat takes place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on November 29. Bradley Thomas MP’s winners will be announced on Small Business Saturday (November 30).
