THE NEXT get-together for Fairfield WI will be the annual Garden Meeting at 7pm on June 13.
The event, at Fairfield WI, will feature a question and answer session with gardening guru Reg Moule.
Members gathered earlier this month for the AGM and resolutions, welcoming federation treasurer Sue Chilton.
Mary gave the vote of thanks to Sue for attending the meeting.
The resolution, submitted from a WI in Worcestershire, going forward to the NFWI Annual Meeting in Cardiff will be ‘Mental Health Matters’.
A review of the last 12 months detailed highlights of the past year, including different speakers, there was the treasurer’s report and it was announced the club now had 34 members.
The biggest expense last year was the trip to Denman.
Carol gave her president’s report, thanking the committee for all its hard work and Mary for stepping in when she was ill.
Meriel is stepping down from the committee and Ilse has agreed to take a place on the committee.
The reports were adopted and Carol was confirmed as president again for the forthcoming year.
Members were informed about the produce show in August and the information session in July about how to enter the show and present exhibitions.
Card making workshops were a great success with members and all who attended enjoying them immensely.
A team from Fairfield WI attended the annual county quiz and did better than they thought.
There will also be a Festival of Music and Light at Avoncroft Museum on August 25.
