STATISTICS show renters in the West Midlands to be sixth lowest in the country when it comes to the percentage of their earnings they are spending on their accommodation.
Bromsgrove is the seventh lowest in the region with residents spending an average of 27.41 per cent of their earnings on rent.
The average Bromsgrovian renter earns £585.20 per week and spends £160.38 on rent.
In Wychavon, covering Droitwich, residents on average spend 32.54 per cent of their income on rent – putting it the fourth highest in the region.
Those living there and in Evesham and Pershore earn, on average, £514.10 and spend £167.31 on accommodation.
Birmingham was the highest in the West Midlands with people spending 34.85 per cent on rent.
Nationwide, people in the North East pay the least percentage in the rent to earnings ratio (23.5) and London the most (53.6).
The figures from Alan Boswell Landlord Building Insurance company showed, on average, West Midlanders spent 30.2 per cent of their income on rent.
