Bromsgrove's Sanders Park skate park to be closed for revamp

Bromsgrove Editorial 3rd Sep, 2020   0

THE SKATE park in Bromsgrove’s Sanders Park will be closed from Monday, September 7, for one week so it can be repainted.

The paint can be hazardous until it is dry so the area will be off limits for young people across the district.

The district council will be putting up barriers and taping off areas to reinforce this.

The authority said a full risk assessment had been carried out and workers would be wearing full PPE while they were working.

Coun Phil Thomas said: “We hope to reduce the impact of closing the Skate Park by completing this work when the schools are back.

“It is important residents respect the fact when the skate park is shut, we mean shut completely, and not just during working hours.

“The paint can be hazardous and we don’t want any misuse to lead to injury.”

He added the new coat of paint would also make the area safer to use, as well as revamping it.
