A PUBLIC exhibition exploring one of the most interesting and industrious Bromsgrove family’s is set to take place soon.
The Bromsgrove Society will deliver the historical Button Factory Exhibition to celebrate the Sanders family and their button manufacturing business, which first came to Bromsgrove in 1821.
It will take place at the recently restored Old Button Factory, 5 Windsor Street – the previous home of the Sanders family’s manufacturing business.
Throughout the exhibition on Saturday, March 9 (10am to 3pm) visitors will learn about the family and people who worked for the business.
Some of the employees have spoken to the Bromsgrove Society about their own experiences or those of their families. Attendees will also see why the Sanders family settled in Bromsgrove and discover where they lived and worked previously.
The history of prominent business partners of the Sanders – the Nicholls family – will also feature during the exhibition.
This has all been made possible through Bromsgrove District Council’s Cultural Compact and ReNew small grants scheme, which has allowed the Bromsgrove Society to work on and deliver the project.
Visitors can find parking at car parks on New Road and Windsor Street to access the exhibition.
