BROMSGROVE’S Penguin Supplies has raised £530 for the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust during s a successful year of fund-raising for the Worcestershire charity.
The trust raises awareness of childhood cancers as well as research and support.
The Penguin team’s latest cheque for £530 was the result of members completing the Worcester City Half Marathon having never ran such a race before.
Penguin Supplies Ltd director Chris Hopkinson said it was a big achievement for him personally as he had never run that far before.
“What pushed me forward was the outstanding work the charity does for families at a devastating time in their lives,
I’m truly humbled by their work in the community.
“Also, I would like to give a special thank you to everyone who has supported our fund-raising this year, with not only the Worcester City half marathon, but also our Penguins Pounds campaign last spring.”
Michelle Nolan, the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust’s charity engagement co-ordinator, added: “We can’t thank Chris enough for supporting us this year.
“His grit and determination has really shone through and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
