BROMSGROVE charity NewStarts has received 50 chocolate eggs from the town’s Penguin Supplies Ltd to help give local families in need a boost this Easter.
With the financial pressures caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, families are increasingly needing to cut back and the town firm wanted to show the community spirit was still strong.
NewStarts provides invaluable support to people overcoming the challenges and disadvantages by providing free furniture, emergency food and household supplies to families and individuals who are in greatest need either on low incomes or in financial crisis.
A recent plea for Easter eggs by the charity for the families they support was answered by Penguin Office Supplies director Chris Hopkinson.
He said: “As a family business, we always have a genuine want to help support the community, particularly now when we see what a struggle it is to provide those little extras in the weekly shop.
“NewStarts is a lifeline to many families so when they requested support for supplying Easter eggs we had to get involved.
“Putting a smile on children’s faces is our aim and they so deserve it for the amazing resilience they have shown during the latest lockdown.”
Marion Kenyon, Chief Executive at NewStarts, said she was thrilled with the donation.
